I went to Davao City last Nov 18-21, 2010. We stayed at My hotel were restos/fastfoods, ATM’s and malls are within vicinity. Since we reached Davao City past noon, so we just looked around My Hotel and dropped by the Church and later went to Gaisano mall to watch harry potter.
Nov 19 2010 – 1st day tour with Kuya Diego N. Daniel (09274419709). He was our tour guide/driver. He owns a starex van. he keeps on feeding us information regarding the places we visit.
1st stop – EDEN NATURE PARK&RESORT
- you can see here the amphitheatre, flower&vegetable garden, herbs, fruit tree collections. They have sports field where obstacle course, horse park and skyrider (200m zipline) are located.
2nd stop –HOME OF THE PHILIPPINE EAGLES
- I saw PAG-ASA ( hatched JAN 1992). Thank God he’s still alive! I used to see him in TVs only.
I saw grass owls, white bellied sea eagles, hawk eagles, grey headed fishing eagles, mountain deers, Philippine warty pig, monkeys and a big crocodile.
3rd stop- YUHICO ORCHID GARDEN
-house of colorful and beautiful orchids! you can see waling waling that can cost you Php 2000+ if it has a flower.
4th stop- JAPANESE TUNNEL
- Tunnel built by Philippines soldiers for the JAPANESE during World War 2. The tunnel became the hide-out of Japanese soldiers where mickey mouse money, gold bars, buddhas, empty bullet shells and vintage bombs were found. what’s interesting here are the stalactities (usually of calcium carbonate shaped liked an icicle) hanging from the ceiling of the tunnel. It was my first time to see these stalactites.
Mickey mouse money found inside the tunnel
During picture-taking, a lot of orbs are seen. Could these be the Philippine and Japanese soldiers around us? <scary!>

5th stop- BUTTERFLY GARDEN
I saw live cocoons for the first time. Butterflies of different colors fly freely and one almost stayed on my head!
Live cocoons
6th stop – CROCODILE FARM
Big and small crocodiles are scattered here. But you can see other animals also like parrots, leopard cat, orangutan/monkeys and snakes. They had a show that featured the talents of their beloved pets to the delight of the guests. There were intimate picture takings with the baby crocodile, green, big phyton and a very long and heavy albino phyton. I never tried any. Im so afraid!

7th stop- AFFAT RESTAURANT
Since it was past 7pm, we decided to have our dinner. This resto was said to be one of the famous and expensive according to Kuya Diego but for me it's not! Aside from clean foods, they have big servings in big savings! The foods are affordable and they have the tastiest grilled stuffed pusit and garlic fried chicken! The crab and corn soup is the best! If you want a memorable dinig experience, find Affat!
Nov 19 2010 – our 2nd day tour with Kuya Diego again. We were tired yesterday but we had fun the whole time :D
1st stop- DAVAO MUSUEM
Kuya Diego brought us here for us to know the existence of different tribes in Davao and their colorful cultures and traditions. *I don't have pictures because it's not allowed.
2nd stop – SOUVENIR SHOP
I bought shirts, bags, dried pusit and danggit and fresh water pearls :D Just ask your tour guide where to buy your presents/keepsakes and he will bring you to a big place where all souvenirs you need are there!
3rd stop – JACK’S RIDGE
Davao version of Antipolo where one can see the whole view of Davao City. it’s over-looking type. While enjoying the stunning view and fresh air, we decided to have our lunch there. Quite expensive but worth it! I love their Kare-Kare and stuffed grilled Pusit once more! :D
4th stop – SAMAL ISLAND
We rode on a barge to reach this place. First time again for me. Beaches, resorts and pools are here but I didn’t bring my swim wear. I really don’t like to swim while raining anyway so we looked around and went to our next stop.
5th stop- MONFORT BAT COLONY
Included in Guiness World book of Records because it has 2Million fruit bats! though I didn’t like the pungent smell, I was still amazed by the numerous and not so scary bats.
6th stop – HAGIMIT FALLS
I love to try swimming in here. The falls was clean and cold! I love to dip my body if only I could! I got envied by the people who jumped and swam to their hearts content!
7th stop – back to SM Davao
Since it was dinner time again, we dropped by a videoke bar. We brought Kuya Diego. We sang til we lost our voices!hehe. We also ate there and enjoyed the last hours we had in Davao.
